Flight Log, the FAA pilot logbook.

Last updated 23 September 2026

Flight Log collects nothing. Your flights, aircraft, certificates and scans are stored on your device and nowhere else. We cannot see them, and there is no account to make.

What is stored, and where

Everything you record stays in the app's own storage on your iPhone or iPad, and in that device's own backups to iCloud or your computer if you have those turned on. There is no server, no sign-in and no sync. Photos you scan or attach are copied into the app.

What leaves your device

Only what you send yourself. A backup, CSV or PDF goes to wherever you choose in the share sheet — Files, iCloud Drive, email, another app — and is governed by that service. It never passes through us.

If you use the Apple Watch app, flights and your currency summary pass directly between your iPhone and your Watch.

Analytics, advertising and tracking

There are none. No analytics SDK, no advertising identifier, no crash reporter, no third-party trackers of any kind. The app makes no network requests of its own.

Subscription

A subscription is bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment and tells the app only its status: whether it is active, when it renews, the price in your currency, and whether a free week is open to you. We never see your card or your Apple ID.

Camera and photos

The camera is used only when you scan a certificate or endorsement, and the photo library only when you pick a photo to attach. Either is copied into the app and stays on your device.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app deletes the logbook on that device. A device backup may still hold a copy. Keep a Flight Log backup somewhere of your own if you want one you can open anywhere.

Children

The app is a logbook for pilots. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date above.
