Flight Log, the FAA pilot logbook.
Where is my logbook?
On your device, in the app. There is no account and no server. Open Your data from the Logbook screen and tap Back up now to write the whole logbook, scans included, to a single file you can keep anywhere.
Moving to a new phone or iPad
- On the old device: Your data → Back up now, then save the file to Files, iCloud Drive, or email it to yourself.
- On the new device: open Flight Log and choose Restore from a backup, or open the backup file from Files.
If you change your mind, Undo the last restore puts the logbook back as it was.
Moving from LogTen
- In LogTen, open File → Export, choose Tab-delimited Text or CSV, and include all fields.
- In Flight Log, open Your data → Import → From LogTen and pick that file. The columns are read by name, so there is nothing to map.
The preview shows the flight count and total hours before anything is written.
Getting an 8710-1 out
Open Reports → FAA 8710-1. Every line is filled in from your logbook; tap one to see the flights behind it. Export PDF gives you a page to copy into IACRA or hand to the examiner.
Why does it say I'm not current?
The Currency tab shows each rule with its FAR section and the date it runs out. Tap a line to see which flights count. Help → Night and IFR currency rules explains how each figure is worked out.
Subscription and cancelling
Flight Log is $4.99 a month after a free first week. Cancel before the week ends, in Settings → your name → Subscriptions, and you pay nothing. If you cancel, your logbook stays on your phone and export keeps working.
