Honey Hive, the beekeeping record book.

Last updated 22 September 2026

Honey Hive collects nothing. Your yards, hives, inspections, treatments, harvests, photos and notes are stored on your device and nowhere else. We cannot see them, and there is no account to make.

What is stored, and where

Everything you record stays in the app's own storage on your device. There is no server, no sign-in and no sync. Photos you attach are copied into the app, so deleting them from your camera roll does not remove them from a record.

The one request that leaves your device

If you leave Prefill date and weather switched on, the app asks Open-Meteo for the current temperature and wind so a new inspection is already filled in. That request contains a latitude and longitude rounded to two decimal places — roughly a kilometre — and nothing else. No identifier, no account, none of your records.

Turn the setting off in Settings and the app makes no network requests at all. It is designed to work with no signal.

Analytics, advertising and tracking

There are none. No analytics SDK, no advertising identifier, no crash reporter, no third-party trackers of any kind. Nothing about how you use the app is measured or transmitted.

Your backups and exports

When you back up or export, the app hands the file to your device's share sheet. Where it goes next — Files, iCloud Drive, email, another app — is your choice, and governed by whichever service you send it to. The file never passes through us.

Children

The app is a record book for beekeepers. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date above. Since the app collects nothing, we do not expect it to change much.
